Content  –  A wonderfully upbeat song telling how the shepherds are surprised by angels before discovering the baby Jesus in a humble stable.  Very catchy indeed and ideal for inclusion in a Nativity or Christmas concert. The optional harmony is easy to achieve for KS2 children, and the modulation into the final chorus makes for a joyful ending.

Lyrics Sample

Shepherds out one night

Saw a light, got a fright!

Angels came to them

Down in Bethlehem.

La, la, la-la-la, La-la-la, la-la-la!

La, la, la-la-la,

Down in Bethlehem.

In a stable bare

See the child lying there!

Sleeping in the hay

Down in Bethlehem....
