Content    It's fun to pretend you are someone else - someone that's larger than life - a famous figure or even a superhero.  You can imagine seeing life through someone else's eyes, but 'all the same you're still just you - that's the way it goes!'  An unusual song with a great backing track that always goes down well with this age group.

Lyrics Sample

So just pretend you’re in their shoes!

You can be anyone you choose,

Try their lives: go in disguise!

See the world through someone else’s eyes.

I’d like to be Queen of England for a while,

And live in style.

I’d like to be a football captain for a day

Get lots of pay!

I’d like to be Aristotle, for a week being Greek.

Mathematics on a plate:

That would be great!

So just pretend... (etc.)

You might dress in rags, you might dress in robes.

All the same you’re still just you: that’s the way it goes!

You could be someone fierce like

Captain Hook - a nasty crook!

Or you could be someone brave like

Robin Hood and fight for good!

You could be a superhero with such might: what a sight!

Soaring up to the stars, you’d fly to Mars!

So just pretend... (etc.)

This song features in the outstanding contemporary musical 'Bully!', which - despite it's seemingly dark theme - is full of fun and very appealing and relevant to children, who inevitably understand its PSHE content very well !
