Content  -  ‘Growing Pains’ is a reflective song about the frustrations of a child’s everyday life - forgetting books, messing up spellings, failing tests, unfairness, etc.  The message is that those things don’t last forever, and when life feels tough we just have to be patient and try to keep ourselves positive.  Set in a very laid back groove, with a two part section at the end.

Lyrics sample

I didn’t do that well today

In my science test,

Messed up my spellings

Even though I did try my best.

School can be tough I know,

But I must always have faith,

Just like a runner trying to win

A long distance race.

Deep down, I know, not far to go.

When I was walking home

I knew I’d left books at school.

Why do I do these things?

It makes me feel like a fool…
