Three children, Sophie, Josh and Andrew find something very mysterious about an archway in their local park: it seems to have their own names inscribed on it. Going through the archway, they find themselves transported into another world, caught up in a battle to save the Forest of Alamore from the wicked crone Hagbane, who has stolen the Merestone – a magical stone that is essential to keep the forest alive.
Prince Oswain (rightful ruler of the Forest), the children, and the forest animals defeat Hagbane and her army of Grims and Grogs. In the dramatic climax of the show, Oswain is triumphant and the Merestone is restored to rightful place. Wonderful dance opportunities.
'The children loved the songs, they enjoyed the story but most of all they loved to hate the wicked crone - Hagbane! The whole production was a fantastic finale for our Year 6 children.' Christine Round – Teacher, Doncaster .

Fantastic Finale. Review by Christine Round - Teacher, Doncaster

The children loved the songs, they enjoyed the story but most of all they loved to hate the wicked crone - Hagbane! The whole production was a fantastic finale for our Year 6 children.

Flamboyantly Histrionic. Review by Review Extracts From Music Teacher - 2007

The backing tracks are full of jingling swirling glittery effects for supernatural moments. Many of the songs tend towards a mood of uplift........ the music for the nasty characters is justly more enjoyable, the driving rock of Hagbane's 'Wretched Child' and the light reggae of the Wicked Wizards' 'Take A Juicy Spider' providing the chance for extrovert 11-year-olds to say goodbye to their school by making a flamboyantly histrionic exit!

Superb Musical. Review by Barbara Dean - Headteacher, Essex

Many thanks for a superb musical - great music! It inspired even our most reluctant singers!

Very Good! Review by Maureen Harrity - Deputy Head Teacher - North Yorkshire

Very good! The children found their lines easy to learn. There is a good balance between dialogue and music and the stage directions are very useful.' There are good opportunies for creativity with the costumes. The children enjoyed the story and the parents reponded very positively.

Enjoyed Performing. Review by Jessica And Nuala - Pupils, North Yorkshire

We really enjoyed performing 'Hagbane's Doom'! We especially liked the costumes and the songs. The songs weren't hard to learn and sounded amazing when we got them right. We loved our parts and are glad we got them. We found the script fairly easy to learn and very straightforward. We would definitely recommend Hagbane's Doom to other schools.
